About Us
Sleep Center of the Southwest is an AASM accredited sleep center; it is one of thirty in the state of Texas. We were the first accredited sleep center in the Permian Basin area. The center is equipped with state of the art digital polysomnography system; we also have the capability to run simultaneous analog/paper and digital polysomnographies
About Dr. Bray
Dr. Bray was born and raised in Miami, Florida. His undergraduate training was completed at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and at the University of Miami where he graduated with honors. He attended medical school at the University of Miami and later completed an internship and residency in Pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the primary teaching hospital of the University of Miami, and the largest teaching hospital in the South. He then completed a Fellowship in Allergy and Immunology and Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Duke University. His fellowship training at Duke was funded by a grant from the National Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Upon completion of his training at Duke, Dr. Bray continued to further his training in Baltimore, where he completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the renown Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is a Clinical Assistnat Professor of Pediatrics at Texas Tech Medical School. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Permian Basin Cystic Fibrosis Center. He has received extensive postgraduate training in Sleep and Breathing Disorders at Stanford University, the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the Presbyterian Sleep-Wake Disorders Center in Dallas, Texas; which is associated with Southwestern University Medical School. He was the first board certified sleep physician in the Permian Basin, and was the Medical Director of the first AASM accredited Sleep Lab in the Permian Basin, which was located in the old Women's and Children's Hospital now known as Odessa Regional Hospital.
About Michael L. Buss, RPSGT, CCRC
With over 30 years of medical experience (17 years with Dr. Bray), Mike, a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, supervises the completion of all sleep studies. He scores all the sleep studies for Dr. Bray's analysis and interpretation. In addition to coordinating the testing schedule, patient prep, and follow-up care, Mike is involved in all initiatives necessary in running an AASM Accredited Sleep Diagnostic Center.
Mike has extensive training in Sleep Medicine through the "Ohio Sleep Medicine Institute, Atlanta School of Sleep Medicine, and the Midwest Sleep and Neurodiagnostic Institute".
